Our work is utterly dependent on our volunteers; the following people all live locally, they care about our community and give huge amounts of their time to make sure it is a better place to live.
Our volunteers are young and old and many are also a part of our Salvation Army church, but some are not. If you would like to get involved in what we are doing then call Chris Neilson on 0161 6286808 or use or contact page to send us a message.
Hi my name is Tim Royales, I’ve lived on Fitton Hill for over ten years. I have been married for over five years and have two amazing daughters. In my spare time I love playing football and watching films.
I am a full time worker at Eden Fitton Hill and love helping young people to become all that they can be. As part of my job I work in Hathershaw School both cooking and support work. I also run a couple of football sessions and do some informal mentoring too. I think Fitton Hill is an amazing place and that it has changed so much in the last five years+. My hopes for the future are that Fitton Hill continues to grow from strength to strength and we see more amazing things happen here like the new health centre and the football pitches being built for the community.
I’m Chris I lead the church and manage our project. I am married to Laura with three children, Barny, Caleb and Ben. This picture is me with Barny, our first child, as you can see I was still a bit nervous of children then, but five years later and two more boys I got a bit more used to it.
My main interest is Eden and our church, but I’m also a huge Liverpool Fan, and I’m trying to get my boys into it also. I love any movie with Will Ferrel in it and spending time with my family.
I’m Kelly, I work part time for Eden as the family worker. I have a family of my own which consists of my husband Tim and my two lovely girls, Kyra and Miya, who keep me busy the rest of the time when not at work. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially outdoors, I love nature. I lived in South Africa for 17 years and have been fortunate enough to have visited a few different countries and cities, I would really like to do more of this as I enjoy experiencing different cultures and surroundings.
Hi, my name’s Stef. I’m 25 and a medical student at Manchester University. I’m married to Paul and we live together with our two cats. I moved to Fitton Hill in 2004 and at the moment help out with Cell and some of the admin stuff. I like holidays, being warm and matching colours.
Hey, I’m Jamie, I’m 20 and I’ve lived on Fitton Hill now for more than ten years. I like to play tennis, and go fishing, and enjoy playing the piano and guitar…
I first got to know Eden and became a Christian when I was 15 years old. After that I helped out with a few youth clubs, and planned things like talent shows, etc. Before I knew it I was off to Canada to do a Gap Year with 614 Toronto called Ignite. After which, I came back to Fitton Hill to work for the new health centre that Laura had set up in our local neighbourhood.
I help run a Christian based youth club (cell) on a Tuesday, and an outreach youth club on a Friday night.
After working at the health centre for a year and a half I’ve become so fascinated with Medicine, that I’m doing an access course to Medicine, with the hope to go onto university to study and become a doctor.
Hi, I’m Heather. I am 26 and have lived on Fitton Hill for more than 6 years and have been involved in Eden Fitton Hill from the start. I am a teacher at the local high school, Hathershaw College of Technology and Sport, teaching an array of subjects but mainly RE and PSHE.
I enjoy talking, singing, theology, playing my guitar, hanging out with friends and talking some more… I help out with Wednesday youth club every week. I also help to lead the Anew project with young people from Fitton Hill and Hulme Grammar School and am passionate about seeing young people’s aspirations raised in the local area.
My name is Jon. As well as looking after Eden’s Wednesday afternoon youth club I help out with the Anew Education Project where we are working with Oldham Hulme Grammar School to help young people on Fitton Hill go to university if they want to.
I have two day jobs as a volunteer for a charity doing support work in Fitton Hill with people with disabilities. For the rest of the time I work at the doctors doing some office work. I love spending time with my family and friends, reading books and getting out walking in the hills! A country boy, I grew up on the farm. (Some people have wondered if I was born in a manger). You can tell I’m a person of faith, because I support Swindon Town FC who warm their cockles in league one.
